about

Canadian solo drone guitarist THISQUIETARMY crossed paths with the Sardinian postrockers THANK U FOR SMOKING on their respective European tours, sharing the stage together in Belgium, France, Germany and Italy in the spring 2016.

In the spirit of creating a real collaboration for the Subsound Split series rather than a singular split album, TQA & TUFS decide to connect the dots by exchanging demos and playing on each other's tracks to transform both their distinctive style of post-music into a fresh, merged sound entity. With TQA touring the world for most of the year, the music was written and recorded on the road between Sao Paulo, Montreal, Berlin and Sardinia. The entire collaboration was then skillfully mixed and mastered by Valerio Fisik at HombreLobo Studio, Rome.

To push the concept even further with the artwork, they chose characters from Trainspotting and Fight Club, two cult films from the 90's that have personally influenced both bands.

Artist Stonino depicts both Francis Begbie and Tyler Durden in a Fear and Loathing context driving together into the sunset, which mirrors the different personalities and the shared adventures of both bands on the road, which usually involved pizza, beer, whiskey and Mirto))).

Released by Subsound Records for their Subsound Split Series.
Released in 300 12" splatter-grey vinyls.
